Assumption Regional Catholic School 2017-2018 School Year

Welcome and thank you again for registering your student(s) here at Assumption Regional Catholic School for the 2017-2018 school year.  We are looking forward to the new school year and to having you and your student(s) here as new members of our Assumption Family!

Please go to the school website (www.arcsgalloway.org) to find the following additional information:

·       2017.2018 School Year

·       Summer work for your student(s)

As the new school year approaches, we wanted to provide you with a few helpful suggestions to make your first few weeks as easy as possible.

Summer Assignment/Supply List: Summer assignments and grade level supply list have been posted on the school website and is also included in this email.  All assignments must be completed by the start of school (For grades 1-8).

Lunch Account: The opportunity to purchase lunch is available for students in grades PreK4 – 8 each full day of school.  We are excited to announce that ARCS is working with Renweb and updating our lunch program.  Once details are finalized parents will have the ability to purchase and pay for lunch online for their students.  As soon as this update is complete, we will be in touch!

Transportation: During the first week of school please write your child’s teacher a note indicating what your student(s) usual means of transportation will be (Car Rider, Bus Rider or After Care).  If this changes, please contact the front office by calling (609) 652-7134 before 1:45!

Bus Riders – You will be receiving a notification from Atlantic County Special Services prior to school starting. This will indicate your student’s pick-up/drop-off time and the location of the bus stop.  For the first two weeks of school make sure your child has their bus slip with them to avoid any confusion.  If you have questions please contact Atlantic County Special Services by calling (609) 625-8061 or contact the front office.

School Hours: Before Care begins at 7:00am (this is a flat fee of $3)…The school doors open at 7:35…students grades K – 8 must be in the gym no later than 7:50 or they will be considered late (PreK4 students can be dropped off at this time also).  PreK 3 and PreK 4 normal drop off begins at 8:20am – 8:40am…If you arrive after 8:40am please bring your child to the front office and they will be taken to their classroom.

PreK Drop-off times:

  • 7:00 – 7:35am is a flat fee of $3
  • 7:35-7:50am they can be brought to the gymnasium for morning assembly with the school community.  There is no charge for this and the students will walk to the classroom with their teachers for free play until the remainder of the students arrive.
  • 8:20-8:40am normal drop off time at the PreK doors.

 PreK Pick-up times:

·       PreK3 pick-up time is 12:30pm.

·       PreK 4 through Grade 8 pick-up time is 2:20pm.

PreK 4 parents pick-up their students at the PreK doors at 2:20pm.  Parents of students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade pick-up their students in the school parking lot.

Early dismissal – If you need to pick-up your child before the official end of the school day, please make sure to contact the office before 2:00pm.  For the safety of our students, students are NOT permitted to be picked-up after 2pm when we begin the dismissal process.  This will help avoid any confusion.

After Care Program: This program begins at dismissal and ends at 5:30pm during regular school days. On days that there is noon dismissal the program ends at 3:00pm.  Students can purchase a snack in the after care program or bring one from home.  During noon dismissal days please make sure to pack a lunch for your child.

Additional Dates to Remember:

August 30th

Back to School Meet and Greet (6:00 – 8:00pm).  This will take place in the school gymnasium.  This is a great opportunity to meet new and old families, teachers and staff.  Families will have an opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt that takes them on a journey to meet Ms. Dollinger (our new Principal), the students teachers, and participate in some fun family activities!  Families with students entering grades PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten will visit their student’s rooms, meet the teachers and participate in a short parent/student orientation.
