Remote Learning Day 36

Remote Learning Day 36

Greetings, ARCS Families!

We are on Day 36 of remote learning.  Our teachers are meeting today so I hope your children are enjoying their “half day.”  Please know how much the teachers and I miss seeing the students each day!

Congratulations are extended to 7th Grader and AquaLeader member, Isabella, for being selected to participate in the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) Tech Trek Program.

Tech Trek is a one-week, residential, hands-on STEM camp for rising eighth-grade girls and is held at Stockton University each summer. At Tech Trek, girls are immersed in a world that empowers and encourages them to think about themselves as future scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and computer specialists.

Tech Trek is HANDS ON:   program apps for tablets and smartphones; extract DNA, formulate lip gloss in a chemistry lab; science, technology, engineering and math activities are designed to be engaging and fun!

Educators nominate one girl per school, who then applies online with family assistance and a written essay. AAUW volunteer committees in all 21 counties review the nominations, applications, and schedule in-person interviews to make final camper selections. Isabella is one of 60 young ladies chosen, from all of the nominated students in New Jersey, to participate in this program. We are so excited for Isabella!

The 2020 Tech Trek Camp has been postponed until 2021. We are looking forward to hearing all about Isabella’s Tech Trek experiences in July of 2021!

May we continue to hold in prayer our health care workers, first responders, those affected by COVID-19, all those providing needed goods and services, our families, our teachers, and ourselves.

Thank you for your continued support!  Hoping that you have a good weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather that we are supposed to have!  Please try to attend live-stream liturgy as prayer is truly the mortar that keeps us together!

Gratefully,

Joan Dollinger

Principal
