Remote Learning Day 41

Remote Learning Day 41

Greetings, ARCS Families!

We are on Day 41 of remote learning, and I hope that you had a good Memorial Day Weekend.  Cape May had a lot of visitors even with the cool weather.   Memorial Day ceremonies were very different this year, yet it is so important that we remember to honor our armed service members who lost their lives while defending our freedoms.  Eternal rest grant unto them, O God, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Our ARCS Field Day will take place on Friday, May 29.  We hope you are able to join in the fun with your family!  Directions for the events were sent home last week. I will send them home again tomorrow just in case you can’t find it!   Please feel free to make this day what works best for your family.  If the events do not appeal to you then please feel free to go for a walk, take a bike ride, go on a hike, run, whatever is good for you!  We will kick off the virtual field day at 9:00 AM on May 29 via livestream on our Facebook page. Please wear your Mary Ellen Schurtz Ribbons of Hope Field Day t-shirt and send pictures to Mrs. Flammer or post on our Facebook page.  Mrs. Bryz-Gornia will demonstrate some of the games to get us started!  We are very excited about this event as Ribbons of Hope Field Day is one of our treasured activities each year!

Many thanks are extended to our parents and teachers who are sponsoring our 8th Graders.  It has been pure joy seeing our 8th Graders’ expressions when you visit their homes or send them a card.  While graduation will be different for them this year, it is our hope that they feel honored and celebrated by our ARCS community!

A committee is being formed of principals from South Jersey Catholic Schools to work on developing a plan for the 2020-2021 school year. While we have not received any guidance from the governor, it is important to begin working through the possible scenarios for next year.  Shortly, we will be sending a survey for you to complete regarding your thoughts as we move forward to school reopening next year, as well as your thinking around remote learning if we ever have to do it again.

Morning Greeting and Prayer

Afternoon Prayer (Thank you, Allie!)

Special Guests (Thank you, Mrs. Giardina! We are all going to need to purchase a kiln!)

May we continue to hold in prayer our health care workers, first responders, those affected by COVID-19, all those providing needed goods and services, our families, our teachers, and ourselves.

Thank you for your continued support!
