Remote Learning Day 45

Remote Learning Day 45

Greetings, ARCS Families!

We are on Day 45 of remote learning, and I hope that this was a good day for you and for your children.

Today, I had the opportunity to Zoom while some of our 7th Graders were presenting their research around an issue in a debate format.  They were extremely prepared and it was obvious that they had done their research on the topic.  Debating through Zoom is not the easiest of tasks, yet through their preparation with their teachers they were ready and they did an incredible job!

This is the last week for our 8th Graders, the Class of 2020!!  We will be having a Zoom Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Livestream Liturgy and Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, and a drive-through diploma pick-up also on Saturday.  The administration and Junior High teachers worked hard the past several weeks to provide the Class of 2020 with a ceremony that honors and celebrates their accomplishments and the grace-filled time that they have been students at ARCS.  We are so proud of our 8th Graders, especially in the past three months.  They certainly have persevered and have grown in their own understanding of what it means to live through a pandemic.  The Class of 2020 will definitely be missed!

Please hold our graduates in your prayer as they move through their final week as students at Assumption Regional Catholic School and prepare to begin their high school years.  May they continue to live the words of 2 Peter 3:18:  Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  All glory to him, both now and forever.  Amen.

You will be receiving a form from your child/children’s teacher regarding drop-off/pick up of materials.  We are doing this alphabetically over a three-day period next week.  If you have multiple children, you only need to pick one time on the form.  8th Grade is not included as everything will have been turned in.  We will be practicing social distancing and you are asked to wear a mask.  Thank you!

We are currently taking orders for our 2019-2020 Yearbook.  If you would like to order one for your child, please click on the link below.

Below is a link of Bishop Sullivan’s words at yesterday’s Pentecost liturgy.   As Bishop Sullivan shares with us, you may want to consider praying the Hail Mary to ask Mary, the Queen of Peace, to intercede on behalf of our country during these deeply difficult days. This would be as you find appropriate for the age of your children and their understanding of these events.

May we continue to hold in prayer our health care workers, first responders, those affected by COVID-19, all those providing needed goods and services, our families, our teachers, and ourselves. We also pray for healing in our country.

Thank you for your continued support!
